Frequently asked questions

About OReGO
What happens if I drive out of state?
Open

Out-of-state miles are not subject to the road usage charge but are subject to fuel tax.

If you use a telematics device, it will automatically recognize when the vehicle leaves the state and you will not be charged for those miles.

For those using OEM built-in telematics (non-GPS), we are unable to determine when to withhold fuel tax credits. To request a refund for out-of-state mileage charges, you'll need to submit a refund request. The reimbursed amount will exclude the gas tax paid for driving outside the state of Oregon.

What are the benefits of opting in to the OReGO program?
Open

Help preserve and maintain Oregon's roads. Here are the perks:

  • Only pay for the miles you drive (2 cents per mile).
  • Participants with fuel-powered vehicles receive automatic fuel tax credits (40 cents per gallon).
  • Electric or 40+ miles-per-gallon rating vehicle owners receive reduced vehicle registration fees. Check savings you can expect from joining OReGO.
  • OReGO participants are able to pay registration fees monthly, in smaller payments, instead paying in a lump sum up front.
What is the purpose of the OReGO program?
Open

The purpose of the OReGO program, initiated by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), is to provide a sustainable and equitable funding solution for the state's transportation infrastructure.

The OReGO program offers a contemporary, technology-driven solution that combats climate change while ensuring a fair assessment of drivers for their road usage. By aligning road usage fees with actual road usage, OReGO aims to create a more balanced and sustainable funding model that can adapt to future changes in vehicle technology and driving habits, ensuring Oregon's roads remain safe, efficient, and well-maintained for all users.

  • Stay Vigilant! Always be on guard and trust your instincts. If something seems suspicious or out of the ordinary, it’s best to verify the source before taking any action. By staying vigilant and informed, you can protect yourself from malicious activities and potential threats.

How do I recognize malicious activity?
Open

Recognizing malicious activity is crucial to protecting yourself from potential threats. Here are some signs to watch out for:

  • Unsolicited Requests: Be cautious of unsolicited emails, messages, or phone calls asking for personal information, passwords, or payment details. NextMove by Cintra will never reach out to ask you to provide personal information through these channels.
  • Requests for Payment or Personal Information: Be wary of requests for payment via untraceable methods like gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency. NextMove only offers secure payment options. We will never ask for passwords, credit card information, or direct payment through links, nor will we use threatening language to solicit information.
  • Unsolicited Remote Access: Do not grant remote access to your computer or devices to unsolicited callers claiming to be tech support or from a reputable company. If you need customer support, always initiate contact through our website, by emailing support@nextmovebycintra.com, or give us a call at +1 (888) 320-4337, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST (available in English and Spanish).
  • Too Good to Be True Offers: If an offer seems too good to be true, it likely is. Exercise caution with promises of easy money, prizes, or unrealistic discounts.
  • Stay Vigilant! Always be on guard and trust your instincts. If something seems suspicious or out of the ordinary, it’s best to verify the source before taking any action. By staying vigilant and informed, you can protect yourself from malicious activities and potential threats.
